Eat, Pray, Love (Elizabeth Gilbert) and Tuesdays With Morrie (Mitch Albom).
I saw 'Eat, Pray, Love' a while ago and have intended on buying it since, and yesterday I finally did after an extensive search in Waterstones for it (it's apparently a crossover book that features in travel, travel writing and biography...what?!). The novel is described as "One woman's search for everything", and although I tend to avoid girly books, this looks different. It appealed to me as it follows Elizabeth through Rome, India and Bali on a search for herself. I read the first chapter last night which sees Elizabeth in a restaurant in Rome with an Italian language partner...My idea of heaven! Cannot wait to see how the story pans out and I will let you know once I have finished it.
'Tuesdays With Morrie' stood out to me as I have read one of Albom's books before, 'The Five People You Meet in Heaven', which was fantastic. This novel seems to follow a similar thread; Mitch rediscovers his inspirational college professor who he had lost contact with years before. I haven't read any of this book yet as I am going to complete 'Eat, Pray, Love' first, but I'm sure it will be a fantastic read if Albom's last novel was anything to go by.
However, I've got all these great plans to read these books but I have so much revision to do....I'm really panicking about my English Literature exam and need to re-read 'Tess of the D'Urbervilles', 'As You Like It' and 'Songs of Innocence and Experience'...argh!
I'm off to Disneyland on Sunday and as we are driving there I will hopefully have lots of time to read...Wonder if I can read Tess in that time? X
